Frequently Asked Questions

  • Art therapy uses visual art materials such as drawing, painting or collage as a means of expressing thoughts and feelings. Integrating art into our sessions can help reveal new insights into your experience. Art therapy is about the process not the product and is helpful for all ages regardless of artistic skill. This is an optional tool for you to access in our work together if you are open to it.

  • No. I am a private pay, out of network provider. If you would like to use your insurance, I recommend that you call the provider number on the back of your card and ask:

    • Does my plan cover out of network services?

    • If yes, what percent of the cost will I be reimbursed?

    • Do I have a deductible?

    • If yes, how much has been met?

If your insurance covers out of network services and you would like to use that benefit, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. You will get reimbursed for a portion of the cost of services.

  • Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance, who are not using insurance, or are using out-of-network benefits for services, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” that explains how much your mental health care will cost. You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. I provide all clients with a Good Faith Estimate at the time of our first session.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
